The 10-second answer
Cold soak before first use. After that: cold machine wash up to 30°C with a little neutral liquid detergent, no softener or bleach, and always air dry. Never tumble dry.
I just got it. What should I do first?
Cold soak. Soak in cold water for 10–15 minutes, then gently rinse 1–2 times. This removes residual short-fibre lint from the surface and prevents concentrated shedding during later washes.
Gentle first wash. Hand wash gently with a small amount of neutral detergent. Do not scrub vigorously or machine wash for the first wash. After rinsing thoroughly, gently squeeze out excess water. Do not wring or twist.
How should I wash it?
- Machine wash in cold water only, max 30°C.
- Use a small amount of neutral liquid detergent, pH 6–8.
- Wash separately from clothing and rough fabrics.
- If washing together, use a laundry net to keep them separate.
What should never go in the wash?
- Bleach
- Washing powder
- Scented soap
- Baking soda
- Disinfectants
- Enzyme-based detergents
- Fabric softener
These can damage the fabric's fibre structure and accelerate shedding. Also avoid washing above 30°C.
How do I dry it?
Do
- Shake before hanging to help fluff the fibres
- Air dry naturally in a cool, well-ventilated area
Avoid
- Tumble drying, even on low heat
- Bathroom heat lamps for drying
- Wringing or twisting forcefully
- Ironing
- Leaving them in humid environments for extended periods
Why are the rules so specific?
Our fibres are of the highest quality and are very delicate, which is what makes them gentle on skin. That also makes them more sensitive.
Harsh products (bleach, powder, softener, enzymes) can damage the fibre structure and accelerate shedding.
Heat, force and prolonged humidity can weaken fibres, break pile loops and increase the risk of mildew.
